How buy links work

Our independence guarantee

Retailers and commission rates never influence our scores or verdicts. Scores are decided before monetization is ever considered — we test, score, and write first, and only then look at where the buy buttons point. A product we scored 5/10 gets a buy link with the same disclosure as one we scored 9/10, or none at all.

How we flag commercial links

Every commercial outbound link on this site carries the HTML attribute rel="sponsored", which marks it for search engines as a paid or commissioned link. Editorial links — citations, references, further reading — do not carry it, so the distinction is always visible in the page source.
